“2nd Student Dialogue” Program for the 2023 and Earlier Intakes – Semester 1, Academic Year 2024-2025

On November 26, 2024, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Ton Duc Thang University successfully organized the “2nd Student Dialogue” program. This program was held for students admitted in 2023 and earlier intakes during Semester 1 of the Academic Year 2024-2025.

The program was attended by several esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Acting Dean; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Vice Dean; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan, Dean’s Assistant; Dr. Le Thi Mai, Head of the Sociology Department; Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Head of the Political Theory Department; MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department and in charge of the Tourism Department; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department; MSc. Pham Thai Son, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department at the Khanh Hoa Branch; MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, in charge of the Social Work Department; and MSc. Dong Thi Huong, in charge of the Vietnamese Studies Department. The dialogue was further enriched by the presence of lecturers, faculty staff, and over 100 student representatives, including class monitors, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch Secretaries, members of the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and team leaders, representing nearly 2,000 students from the Faculty. The program was honored to welcome Mr. Vu Pham Tin from the Department of Student Affairs and Dr. Nguyen Ho Khanh Van from the Department of Postgraduate Studies. They provided valuable information on school regulations and postgraduate opportunities, specifically highlighting the 4+1 program in Sociology.

Before participating in the Faculty-level dialogue, students joined Department-level discussions led by departmental leaders. These sessions focused on addressing professional concerns and career orientation, creating a strong foundation for the broader Faculty-level dialogue.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong underscored the purpose of the dialogue as a means to understand the thoughts and aspirations of students. She emphasized the Faculty’s commitment to improving the quality of education and enhancing services to better support learners.

Throughout the program, students received updates on academic matters from Ms. Tran Phuong Nhung, Faculty Academic Affairs staff, while Mr. Bui Le Tuan Anh, Student Affairs Assistant, provided reminders about policies, scholarships, and school regulations.

During the dialogue, students raised questions on various topics, including substitute graduation courses, vocational training, and student activities. These concerns were addressed comprehensively by the Faculty Board, lecturers, and staff, ensuring that all responses were clear and satisfactory.

The “2nd Student Dialogue” program for Semester 1, Academic Year 2024-2025, concluded successfully. It served as an important platform for open communication, fostering mutual understanding between students and the Faculty while addressing critical academic and administrative issues effectively.
