The “2nd Student Dialogue” for Semester 1 of the 2025–2026 academic year, dedicated to students from cohorts admitted in 2024 and earlier
On 11 November 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) of Ton Duc Thang University organized the “2nd Student Dialogue” for Semester 1 of the 2025–2026 academic year, dedicated to students from cohorts admitted in 2024 and earlier. This annual activity aims to strengthen two-way communication between the University, the Faculty, and students, thereby enabling timely acknowledgment and resolution of difficulties encountered during the learning and training process.
The program was attended by representatives from various university units, including MA. Bui Huu Toan, Assistant to the Deputy Head of the Testing and Quality Assessment Department; MA. Le Cong An, Officer of the Student Affairs Department; Ms. Nguyen Thuy Kim Tuyen, Officer of the Undergraduate Studies Department; and Mr. Nguyen Hong Ngoc, Officer of the Inspection, Legislation & Security Department.
From the FSSH, the dialogue was attended by Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Dean; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Deputy Dean; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan, Dean’s Assistant; Dr. Le Thi Mai, Head of the Sociology Department; MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department and in charge of the Tourism Department; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department, Dr. Pham Thai Son, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department at the Khanh Hoa Branch, MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, in charge of the Social Work Department; Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Head of the Political Theory Department; and MSc. Dong Thi Huong, in charge of the Vietnamese Studies Department. The event also welcomed lecturers, staff members, and nearly 250 student representatives, including Class Monitors, Youth Union Secretaries, Class Representatives, and Group Leaders.
At the beginning of the program, Mr. Le Cong An, representing the Student Affairs Department, shared important reminders on preventing online scams and emphasized the importance of cultivating polite and respectful behavior within the academic environment. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, representing the Undergraduate Studies Department, provided updates on key academic matters, including course registration, course withdrawal/cancellation, the academic calendar, tuition fees, and related procedures.
Before attending the Faculty-level dialogue, students had participated in Department-level dialogue sessions chaired by Department Heads. These sessions addressed questions concerning academic matters, curriculum content, and career orientation.
In her orientation remarks, Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong highlighted the purpose and significance of the dialogue program as a platform for open communication, enabling the Faculty Board to understand students’ needs and expectations. This serves as an essential basis for improving the curriculum and enhancing service quality for learners. She also encouraged students to proactively plan their academic pathways, fulfill prerequisite course requirements, and meet the university’s IT and foreign language competency standards to graduate on schedule.
Following this, Ms. Tran Phuong Nhung, Academic Affairs Officer, presented key reminders related to academic procedures, while Mr. Bui Le Tuan Anh, Student Affairs Assistant, provided additional updates on student affairs, policies, scholarships, and compliance with institutional regulations.
During the dialogue, the Faculty received and addressed numerous questions and comments from students concerning the implementation of professional fieldwork courses, training activities, and other matters related to student rights and responsibilities. All questions were answered thoroughly and transparently by the Faculty Board and participating lecturers and staff.
The program concluded in an open and constructive atmosphere, contributing to stronger engagement between the University, the Faculty, and students, and advancing the shared goal of enhancing training quality and providing comprehensive support for learners.
