The 6th Student Scientific Research Conference of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities – 2025
On the afternoon of September 27, 2025, at Hall 6M of Ton Duc Thang University, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) solemnly organized the 6th Student Scientific Research Conference – 2025. The event drew significant interest and participation from distinguished guests, lecturers, alumni, and more than 200 students of the Faculty, creating an atmosphere that was both vibrant and academically dignified.
The conference was honored to welcome Dr. Thai Huynh Phuong Lan, Head of the Department of Rural Development and Natural Resource Management, An Giang University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM); and Dr. Trieu Thi Phuong, Lecturer of the Faculty of Sociology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM. These distinguished scholars brought valuable expertise, enriching the academic quality of the event and broadening opportunities for professional exchange among participating students. From Ton Duc Thang University, the conference welcomed the presence of MSc. Dang Thi Kim Anh – Head of the Department of Student Affairs; MSc. Huynh Anh Khiem – Assistant to the Head of the Department for Management of Science & Technology Development ; MSc. Nguyen Thanh Phuong – Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; MSc. Chau Bao Anh – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law; and MSc. Hoang Thi Tuong Vinh – Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Labour Relations and Trade Unions.
Particularly, from the FSSH, the conference was attended by Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong – Dean; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang – Vice Dean; and Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan – Dean’s Assistant. Accompanying the conference were also heads of departments, lecturers, staff, alumni, and a large number of students, reflecting the Faculty’s spirit of solidarity, mentorship, and continuous development in student scientific research.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong – Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the crucial role of student scientific research as a core component in expanding knowledge, fostering critical thinking, enhancing creativity, and bridging theory with practice. This activity also serves as a foundation for students to gain confidence in addressing social and professional challenges in the future. Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong further highlighted that the student research activities of the Faculty in the academic year 2024–2025 had achieved remarkable results, thereby contributing to improved training quality and affirming the Faculty’s academic standing.
During the Conference, the Faculty presented letters of commendation to research groups with international publications, as well asgroups awarded First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes at the university level. Research groups with projects successfully evaluated at the University and Faculty levels also received certificates of recognition for their positive contributions. Numerous outstanding projects representing the three training majors of Tourism, Sociology, and Social Work were presented and discussed, creating an open academic forum for lecturers, students, and invited guests.



The conference also introduced the Faculty’s student scientific research plan for the academic year 2025–2026, presented by Dr. Hoang Thi Van , Coordinator of Student Scientific Research.. This served as an important starting point to guide new research groups while inspiring academic enthusiasm among students for the upcoming year.

A highlight of the program was the panel discussion titled “Student Scientific Research in the Context of Digital Transformation”, moderated by MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, Vice Head, in charge of Tourism Department – with the participation of distinguished scholars including Dr. Thai Huynh Phuong Lan (An Giang University, VNU-HCMC), Dr. Trieu Thi Phuong (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCMC), and Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan (Ton Duc Thang University). The panel analyzed opportunities, challenges, and directions for applying digital technology and artificial intelligence in student scientific research, offering innovative, interdisciplinary, and highly applicable perspectives.



In parallel with the conference, the Faculty organized an exhibition of outstanding student research projects from September 24 to 26, 2025, at the lobby of Building B. Award-winning projects at the City and University levels from previous years were showcased through video summaries and visual displays, providing students with opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, and spread the spirit of scientific research.
The 6th Student Scientific Research Conference – 2025 concluded successfully, not only honoring students’ research achievements but also opening new directions for the academic year 2025–2026. The event reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to fostering a dynamic academic environment that integrates education with research and international collaboration.
