Cultural Exchange Program with Chiyoda Junior and Senior High School, Japan
On the afternoon of October 2, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), organized a cultural exchange program for 107 students from Chiyoda Junior and Senior High School, Japan. The event created a vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere, fostering friendship and cooperation between TDTU students and international participants.
Representing the FSSH were Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong – Dean; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan – Dean’s Assistant; Dr. Le Thi Mai – Head of the Sociology Department; M.A. Nguyen Hieu Tin – Vice Head in charge of the Tourism Department; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao – Vice Head of the Tourism Department; M.A. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh – Vice Head in charge of the Social Work Department; and Dr. Pham Thai Son – Vice Head of the Department of Tourism at the Khanh Hoa Branch. Representing the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institue (INCRETI) was Officer Tran Ly Dang Khoa. From Chiyoda Junior and Senior High School, the delegation was led by Ms. Hosaka Akiko – Head of the delegation, accompanied by teachers who traveled with the students.
The program featured two main parts:
- At Meeting Room A403, FSSH in collaboration with INCRETI introduced an overview of academic programs and training offered at TDTU. Following this, M.A. Nguyen Hieu Tin delivered a presentation titled “Vietnamese Culture” which highlighted distinctive features of both traditional and modern Vietnamese culture while emphasizing the collaborative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. His insightful presentation provided Chiyoda students with a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s rich cultural identity.
- After the academic session, the delegation explored TDTU’s modern facilities and dynamic learning environment. Later, at the F Building lobby, Chiyoda students and FSSH students participated in cultural performances, interactive sharing activities, and a hands-on experience in making Vietnamese coffee. These lively and engaging activities fostered a warm and friendly atmosphere of cultural connection and mutual appreciation.
The cultural exchange program not only offered Japanese students an opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese culture but also contributed to strengthening international cooperation and expanding academic and cultural exchanges between TDTU and its global educational partners. Through such activities, the FSSH continues to affirm its pioneering role in building a multicultural, dynamic, and globally integrated learning environment.
