Exchange between Former students, Recruitment units and students in Social Work major about job opportunities and application experiences

Last 21st of October 2023, Social Work major under Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities in TDTU organized “The activity for Meeting and Exchange about conditions, job opportunities and application experiences”. Despite of annual event, it was meaningful and memorable. It concentrates on sharing job opportunities and application experiences for Social Work to help students get stable career path.

The meeting was taken place in interesting and inspiring. Moreover, students enthusiastically attended and got highly valuable sharing from people who have been successful in Social Work. Student of various school year with formal clothes participated in the event by their receiving and respect for sharings, advice about major. It also show their pride and excitement for the career path. The exchange had the participation of guests and former students working in Social Work. Representatives of recruitment units, including: MS. Chu Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Social Work Department of Children Hospital 1, who is one of the guests sharing valuable knowledge about employment and experiences in the major. Ms. Nguyen Minh Lan, who one of the former student, represented the Social Work Department at Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Director of Phuoc Loc Co., Ltd., are guests with rich expertise and experience. Especially, the meeting also bring successful stories of alumni who are working at large Vietnamese and International companies and organizations. Mr. Bui Mai Sinh, currently working at Vietnam - Finland Primary School (VFIS); Mr. Hoang Trong Ngoc, attached to Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (SJC); Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, working at FPT Group; Mr. Doan Hong Son, social worker of Worldwide Orphans Organization (WWO);Ms. Le Minh Huong and Ms. Pham Tran Anh Thu, two case managers working at Menthy Clinic, shared very sincerely, passing on the fire of their seniors and seniors to the following courses.

The guests and alumni answered questions from the students, explaining valuable things about practice opportunities, application conditions and lessons from the application experience. The activity created an opportunity for the 38 participating student, not only network between generations of the Social Work industry but also provide specific information and job opportunities. For more than 20 questions, the exchange took place in an extremely exciting, interesting and warm atmosphere between the roof of Social Work - TDTU. Through the exchange, there is a job opportunity at VFIS and a post-graduation internship opportunity at the Social Work Department, Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital were directly connected with participating students.

Exchange activities about conditions, job opportunities and application experiences of the Social Work major have created a solid network of connections between students and alumni of the Social Work major, helping to make a solid network of connections between students and alumni of the Social Work major. A strong networking community and support for student success in the major. The exchange ended in warmth and left many emotions for all attendees. The stories and experiences that guests and alumni bring not only promote students' career aspirations but also provide practical suggestions about jobs and applications.
