The Faculty-level Acceptance Council for Student Research Topics for the 2023-2024 Academic Year

In the Academic year 2023-2024, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) has 15 student research projects supported by the University with funding to implement the topics for six months (from December 2023 to May 2024). With the determination and efforts of each member of the research team, along with enthusiastic support from instructors, the scientific research projects of students of the FSSH have been completed and entered the acceptance step at the Faculty level. The Acceptance Council for the Faculty-level student scientific research project was held in the morning and afternoon of June 7, 2024, in room F507.

Acceptance Council members:

1. Chairman of the Council: Dr. Le Hai Thanh, expertise in Sociology, Lecturer and Advisor, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University.

2. Vice Chairman of the Council: Dr. Le Anh Vu, expertise in Social Work, Director of Postgraduate Training Program in Social Work, Thu Dau Mot University.

3. Secretary of the Council: Dr. Nguyen Phuc Hung, expertise in Business Administration, Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Hung Vuong University of Ho Chi Minh City.

4. Council member: Dr. Le Hong Vuong, expertise in Tourism management, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Van Hien University.

5. Council member: Associate Professor. Dr. Tran Xuan Binh, expertise in Sociology, Lecturer of Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University.

Before the acceptance session began, MSc. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Acting Dean of the FSSH, spoke to thank the council and expressed the University and Faculty's interest in students’ scientific research activities.

Following this, the Acceptance Council and student scientific research groups conducted a working session from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

After discussion, the Faculty-level Student Scientific Research Project Acceptance Council evaluated and agreed that 15 research topics from all groups were accepted at the Faculty level. The Council also proposed 06 scientific research topics for Faculty-level students to participate in acceptance at the University level, specifically as follows:

Topics that have been accepted at the Faculty-level:

1. Factors influencing tourists' decision to choose temple relics as attractions in Ho Chi Minh City

2. Raising children in working families in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone, Dong Nai Province

3. The influence of social media on family relationships (Ho Chi Minh City Case Study)

4. The intention to choose the type of volunteer tourism of the young generation of Ho Chi Minh City

5. The influence of social media on students' political perceptions today (Case study of Ton Duc Thang University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance)

6. Factors affecting expenditure of international tourists in Ho Chi Minh City.

7. Factors affecting online shopping of tourism products by tourists in Ho Chi Minh City

8. Approaching massage for the visually impaired in Ho Chi Minh City from a gender perspective

9. Factors affecting the construction of a smart tourism system in Cu Chi tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City

Topics that have been accepted at the Faculty-level and proposed to participate in the University-level Acceptance Council:

1. Understanding green organizational citizenship behavior from an employee's perspective: An empirical study within the context of hotels in Ho Chi Minh City

2. Application of Group Social Work in Livelihood Support for women in difficult circumstances in Ward 7, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City

3. The influence of co-creation of value on positive experience and satisfaction of international tourists for tourism products of tour operators in Ho Chi Minh City

4. The impact of the working environment on the organizational commitment of Generation Y and Gen Z office workers in Ho Chi Minh City

5. Factors influence on dark tourism product consumption: Applying perceived knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP)

6. The acceptance of metaverse tourism from Vietnamese tourists' experience: A case study in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the end of the acceptance session, MSc. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Acting Dean of the FSSH, sent a letter of thanks to the Council and congratulated the research teams.

The acceptance committee for the Faculty-level student scientific research project concluded at 5:00 p.m. on the same day.
