Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Hosts the Talk Show “Living with Courtesy – Spreading Love”
On November 19, 2025, at Hall 6M of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) organized the talk show “Living with Courtesy – Spreading Love”. The event welcomed speakers, invited guests, faculty members, and a large number of students from TDTU.
The program featured several distinguished guest speakers, including MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department and in charge of the Tourism Department; FSSH; Director Nguyen Anh Luan, Founder of VIEGEN Group; Mr. Nguyen Van Tay, Learning Solutions and Digitalization Manager at Prudential Vietnam; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra Mi, Deputy General Director of Millenium Travel Co., Ltd.
The talk show took place in an open and engaging atmosphere, aiming to promote positive cultural values in modern communication. To begin the session, the speakers discussed the meaning of “courtesy” in contemporary life and highlighted the distinction between “genuine respect” and “formal politeness,” two easily confused concepts that nonetheless shape fundamentally different foundations of individual behavioral conduct.
Following this, the guest speakers shared practical perspectives on professional etiquette both in academic settings and the workplace. Particularly noteworthy was the discussion on employer expectations, which drew significant attention from students: a positive attitude, courteous behavior, effective communication skills, and a spirit of service were emphasized as essential attributes that help shape the image of a modern, responsible, and trustworthy young person.
Representatives from the business sector also underscored that students who demonstrate proper conduct, respect for others, and a collaborative mindset are consistently valued in the recruitment environment. These insights offered students a clearer understanding of how to cultivate professional character and better prepare themselves as they enter the labor market with confidence.
The program received strong participation and enthusiasm from students. Interactive activities, communication scenario exchanges, and personal reflections created an energetic atmosphere, encouraging students to develop habits of courteous behavior, spread kindness, and contribute to a civilized campus community.
The talk show concluded successfully and is expected to serve as a meaningful foundation for helping students develop personal character, refine communication skills, and contribute to building an educational environment that is civilized, creative, and deeply humanistic.
