Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Participates in Southern Vietnam Sociology Day 2026

On September 25, 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), participated in Southern Vietnam Sociology Day 2026 under the theme “Contemporary Sociology – Half a Century and 40 Years of Doi Moi towards Sustainable Development”. Held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the event attracted considerable interest from the academic community through a diverse range of activities.

The Faculty’s delegation included Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Vice Dean; Dr. Le Thi Mai, Head of the Sociology Department; and Sociology lecturers and students.

As part of the program, the Organizing Committee selected several outstanding studies for presentation during the discussion session on student research. Among them was the paper “The Current State of Verbal Violence on Social Media among Young People in Ho Chi Minh City” by alumnus Le Thanh Phong (2022–2026 cohort). The session featured lively discussions and feedback from lecturers, contributing to further refinement of the research.

At the close of the event, delegates and participants reviewed the key topics of the conference and held a ceremony to present a commemorative plaque, transferring the hosting responsibility for Southern Vietnam Sociology Day 2027 to Ho Chi Minh City Open University under the theme “Sociology Reflecting on the Attention Economy”. The event continued to affirm its role in fostering connections and disseminating academic knowledge, while providing a solid foundation for the next generation of promising young researchers in Sociology.
