Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Successfully Concludes the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign in Lam Dong Province

From July 17 to July 19, 2026, a volunteer team of 30 students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), successfully completed the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign in Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province.

Guided by the spirit of youth volunteerism and community service, the student volunteers carried out a wide range of meaningful activities and community projects, contributing to rural development, supporting local residents, and promoting the positive values of youth through the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign.

Youth-Led Community Projects

Throughout the campaign, the volunteers actively participated in environmental improvement and community beautification activities. They cleaned public areas, collected waste, cleared overgrown vegetation, and improved local roads and public spaces, contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable living environment.

As part of the "National Flag Road" project, the team installed 50 Vietnamese national flags along Tan Thanh Tay Road in Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province. The project carries significant educational value by raising awareness among local officials, members of the Veterans' Association, Youth Union members, children, and residents about the sacred meaning of the national flag as a symbol of the sacrifices made by generations of Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and freedom. The project also commemorated the 79th Anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2026).

The "Knowledge Bookshelf" project reflected the commitment of young volunteers to supporting children and promoting education. By providing educational resources, the project helped foster a culture of reading, create a more supportive learning environment, and encourage students to pursue their studies with greater motivation.

Spreading Compassion and Serving the Community

In addition to youth development projects, the campaign featured a variety of social welfare and community service activities.

Through the "Brightening Young Minds" initiative, the volunteer team presented 30 gift packages, including backpacks, notebooks, school supplies, snacks, and milk, to disadvantaged students with outstanding academic performance at Ham Thang 4 Primary School. The program attracted enthusiastic participation from local children, while the volunteers organized interactive English learning activities through educational games.

As part of the "Remembering the Source and Honoring Those Who Served the Nation" initiative, the volunteers visited and presented gifts to three families with meritorious service to the nation and donated ten gift packages to local veterans. They also organized a "Candlelight Tribute" ceremony at the Ham Thang Ward Martyrs' Memorial to honor those who sacrificed for the country while promoting the nation's traditional values, strengthening community solidarity, and fostering a spirit of responsibility and dedication among young people.

In addition, through the "Sharing Love and Gratitude" initiative, the team presented 30 gift packages containing daily necessities to disadvantaged veterans and local residents in appreciation of their lifelong contributions to the community.

Every project, activity, and volunteer effort undertaken during the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign created meaningful and lasting benefits for the local community while providing students with valuable opportunities to develop their leadership, teamwork, and sense of social responsibility. The campaign once again demonstrated the enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment of TDTU students, further strengthening the positive image of student volunteers and their contributions to society.
