Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University attended the Conference to Review One Year of Implementing the Social Work Development Program in Ho Chi Minh City Until 2030

On the afternoon of December 6, 2024, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University, participated in the Conference to review one year of implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Officials and Universities on the Social Work Development Program in the city until 2030.

The conference summarized the outcomes of the first year of implementing the cooperation agreement between the Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant academic institutions, including universities and academies, associated with the Social Work Development Program in Ho Chi Minh City. The event brought together leaders of various departments, branches, universities, academies, and related social organizations. It focused on translating cooperative activities into specific tasks and solutions to ensure the program's effective implementation while aligning with the functions and responsibilities of each participating agency.

During the conference, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau, Vice President of Ton Duc Thang University, represented the University in signing an agreement regarding the placement of students in field education programs at social assistance facilities managed by the Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs. This initiative not only enhances the quality of training but also plays a crucial role in meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the field of Social Work, consistent with the city’s socio-economic development orientation.

In addition to evaluating the program's implementation and discussing future directions, the conference also featured a vibrant and meaningful atmosphere, highlighted by exceptional performances from participating units. Notably, students from the Social Work program, FSSH, Ton Duc Thang University, performed the song “Và tôi hát”. With its lively melody, full of vitality and youthful enthusiasm, the performance reflected the confident, dynamic, and modern spirit of Social Work students and the University as a whole. The performance left a strong impression and conveyed the inspiring message of youth embracing challenges, confidently asserting themselves, and thriving in a modern world, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees.

The conference marked a significant milestone in implementing the cooperation program for developing Social Work in Ho Chi Minh City. With the active participation of the Social Work sector and the FSSH, Ton Duc Thang University, the program not only strengthened the cooperative relationship between stakeholders but also created numerous opportunities for development, improving the quality of training and professional practice.
