Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University successfully organized the final round of the “Heart-to-Heart – H2H Race 2025” competition for Social Work students.

On April 26, 2025, after more than a month of implementation, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) solemnly held the final round of the “Heart-to-Heart – H2H Race 2025” competition. The event was organized for Social Work students from universities and institutes offering Social Work training programs across Ho Chi Minh City. The competition aimed to celebrate Vietnam Social Work Day (March 25), while also creating an academic platform that encourages students to apply professional knowledge, develop practical skills, and foster humanistic values and a sense of community responsibility among the younger generation.

Throughout multiple highly practical challenges requiring in-depth knowledge, community engagement, and the ability to design social projects, the most outstanding teams were honored as follows:

  • Champion: Social Work Team – Ho Chi Minh City University of Education
  • Runner-up: “Nhat The Dong Tam” Team – University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City
  • Third Place: HeartBeat Team – TDTU
  • Consolation Prizes:
    • European Union Alliance Team – TDTU
    • Heart Bridge Team – Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Lu Gia – Program Manager at Save the Children International and a member of the judging panel – shared: “This competition has showcased the professional maturity, organizational skills, and vocational qualities of Social Work students. The participants demonstrated a profound humanistic spirit – the core element of modern social work practice”.

Representing the organizing committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, MSW, emphasized: “The H2H Race 2025 represents the Faculty’s effort to build a constructive and academically rich environment, providing Social Work students at TDTU in particular, and at other institutions in general, with opportunities to holistically develop professional competencies, vocational identity, and a genuine passion for their future careers”.

The final round of the “Heart-to-Heart – H2H Race 2025” competition left a lasting impression and once again affirmed the critical role of academic activities in improving the quality of social work education in response to the evolving needs of Vietnamese society.

By organizing this competition, the Faculty contributes to enhancing students’ professional capacity, increasing real-world experiences, and spreading deeply humanistic values within the student community. The organizing team demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, impartiality, and professionalism throughout all phases of the event, ensuring a fair, transparent, and meaningful competition for all participating teams. The success of the event lays a solid foundation for the continued development of training initiatives that effectively integrate theory and practice, aimed at building a high-quality workforce in social work and promoting sustainable social development.
