Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Welcomes K30 Freshmen and Hosts Talk on “Respectful and Responsible Conduct and Communication in Cyberspace”

On the afternoon of August 28, 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University, held a welcome programme for freshmen of the K30 cohort, together with a talk entitled “Respectful and Responsible Conduct and Communication in Cyberspace”.

The programme opened in a lively atmosphere with musical performances by FSSH students. The event was attended by the Faculty’s Board of Deans, heads of departments, lecturers, and staff members. In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Dean of the Faculty, encouraged the K30 freshmen to make every effort in their studies. On behalf of the Faculty, she also presented five scholarships, each worth VND 1 million, to freshmen who achieved the highest admission scores in their respective majors and specialisations.

As part of the programme, the freshmen attended the talk “Respectful and Responsible Conduct and Communication in Cyberspace”, delivered by Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Nhut from the People’s Police University. The session equipped students with essential skills for respectful online conduct, strengthened their awareness of personal responsibility, and promoted appropriate communication practices in the digital environment, thereby helping them better protect themselves and their families. Students also received career guidance and had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the Faculty’s Board of Deans and department heads, who addressed their questions and concerns.

At the end of the programme, the K30 freshmen joined a campus tour led by the Travel Club to explore the University’s facilities and surroundings. They then returned to their classrooms for meetings with their academic advisors and elected the provisional class committee, Youth Union branch executive committee, and Students’ Association branch executive committee.
