Global Inquiries and Social Theory Research Group Organizes a Thematic Academic Seminar

At 4:00 p.m. on September 23, 2025, in room C305 at Ton Duc Thang University, the Global Inquiries and Social Theory Research Group (GIST) organized a thematic academic seminar featuring Dr. Nguyen Van Toai – a collaborating researcher of the group.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong - Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH); Dr. Dang Thi Kim Phung - Head of GIST; together with lecturers from the Faculty.

During the program, Dr. Nguyen Van Toai presented two thematic reports:

- Non-timber forest product exploitation activities of communities in Cat Tien National Park;

- Current tree planting practices on forest land among communities in the Central Highlands.

In the discussion session, the speaker analyzed and addressed various issues related to the development of research hypotheses, livelihoods transitions of buffer-zone communities, and the impact of policy factors on non-timber forest product exploitation and tree planting on forest land.

The seminar provided practical scientific insights, contributing to academic exchange and fostering the interdisciplinary research orientations of both the GIST and the FSSH.
