Guidance Session on Student Scientific Research Report Presentation for the Academic Year 2024–2025
On May 8, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a guidance session on how to effectively present student scientific research reports for the academic year 2024–2025. The session took place at Meeting Room A.0101 and featured the valuable insights of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Binh, a lecturer from the Department of Sociology. During the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Binh provided practical instructions and shared key strategies to help research groups improve their reports in a scientific, persuasive, and academically appropriate manner.
Participants were guided in detail on structuring a research report—from formulating the research problem, objectives, and methodology, to presenting results and outlining chapter contents. Special attention was given to the presentation of processed and analyzed data, ensuring clarity and logical flow. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Binh emphasized the importance of writing chapter summaries as transitional elements that consolidate findings and guide readers through the report. He also addressed the commonly underdeveloped sections of recommendations and proposed solutions, urging students to enhance these parts with practical and feasible insights. Toward the end of the session, research groups were reminded of proper referencing practices according to standard academic citation styles, in order to avoid plagiarism and enhance the academic rigor of their work.
The session took place in a serious yet open atmosphere, with active exchanges between student groups and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Binh.
This meaningful activity enabled students to refine both the content and format of their reports, thereby improving the overall quality of student-led scientific research. The event also served as essential preparation for the official departmental evaluation of research projects, scheduled for June 6, 2025.
