Honoring students' talents in scientific research

On the afternoon of December 18, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, the 23rd Euréka Scientific Research Student Award was held and awarded in 2021.

This year, the award has more than 1251 scientific research topics in 12 fields of 132 universities, colleges and institutes in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities participated in the semi-finals. The Scientific Council selected 162 best topics to compete in the final round of ranking. As a result, the scientific research group of Vietnamese students majoring in Tourism and Tourism Management (high quality), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University won the First prize with the topic "Impacts of Tourists' Beliefs in Government's Performance and Perceived Risk from Covid-19 to Travel Behaviour", with members including: Nguyen Quynh Anh (leader); Ho Dieu Lan and Duong Thien Tam; Instructor: Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan.

This study, with the aim of analyzing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Vietnam's tourism industry, the risk perception of tourists and their trust in the government affect the intention to travel. The authors used the TPB model (Ajzen, 1991) and collected 469 sample units to test the model. The findings show that risk perception negatively affects attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, while trust in government positively affects attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective standards. Moreover, travel attitude, ability to control perceived behavior and subjective norm positively influence tourists' travel intention. Thereby, the authors also propose some theoretical and practical implications to show how to develop safe travel measures in the future and recommend through effective tourism recovery actions. .
