International Conference on Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities
On the morning of October 4, 2019, the International Conference on Innovations in Social Sciences and Humanities 2019 (ISSH 2019) was organised and held at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
The seminar was co-organized by TDTU with the University of Trieste (Italy), Leipzig University (Germany), the University of Warwick (United Kingdom), National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan), Purdue University Northwest (USA).
Attending and presenting at the Conference were experts, scientists, lecturers, researchers and scholars from the United States, Europe and Australia. There were also participants from a number of Asian countries such as India, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Associate Professor John Hutnyk, Chairman of the Conference, emphasized that the organization of ISSH 2019 demonstrates TDTU's responsibility to improve research efforts around social issues of interest in the world. Through this, the image of a friendly TDTU with sustainable development will be felt more clearly in the international academic community.
The Conference has 39 research projects from world scientists on relevant topics in the fields of social sciences and humanities. These reports are printed in the Proceedings of the ISSH-2019 Conference published by TDTU. The featured articles will also be reviewed and published in a Special Issue of Inter-Asia Cultural Studies (IACS) in the ISI list.
The Conference takes place over the course of 5 sessions froms October 4th October 5th 2019. With a variety of participants and research topics, the academic debates at the ISSH 2019 Conference will shed light on why new, interdisciplinary research methods are needed in the field of social sciences and humanities. The Conference is also a demonstration that TDTU is becoming one of the country's major science and technology centers and a key forum to connect international scholars.
