International Students Explore Vietnamese Culture at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities

On the morning of June 5, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University, hosted a cultural exchange program that welcomed international students and faculty members from Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia), Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University (Thailand), and international volunteers from Outreach Vietnam.

Representing the FSSH were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang – Vice Dean; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan – Dean’s Assistant; and Dr. Pham Thai Son – Vice Head of the Department of Tourism at the Khanh Hoa Branch.

The delegation from Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University (Thailand) included Assistant Professor Dr. Nareema Sangwiman – Assistant Dean, Mr. Tanasit Chomchit – Assistant Dean, along with 24 students participating in the program.

From Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia), the program was honored to welcome Dr. Khairun Najiah Binti Ahmad and 20 students.

In addition, Mr. Vo Thang Thuong – Coordinator of Outreach Vietnam – and 15 international student volunteers from various countries also joined the event, enriching the exchange with vibrant multicultural interactions.

The program consisted of two main components:

  • Thematic Session on “Vietnamese Coffee Culture”, held at Meeting Room A0101 and presented by Mr. Pham Cong Danh, a lecturer of FSSH. The session offered participants fascinating and in-depth insights into the history, customs, and distinctive features of coffee culture in Vietnamese daily life.
  • Cultural Exchange and Hands-on Activities, conducted at the F Building lobby, where international students and FSSH students jointly performed music and cultural showcases, shared stories, and took part in a hands-on experience of brewing traditional Vietnamese coffee. These lively and engaging activities created a warm, friendly, and deeply connected space for cultural understanding.

The event not only provided international students with a meaningful opportunity to learn about Vietnamese culture but also contributed to promoting international cooperation, mutual understanding, and friendship among regional universities. It stands as a clear testament to FSSH’s ongoing efforts in integration and sustainable development in academic training and international engagement.
