International Students at the Final Round of the “Vietnamese-language Eloquence” Contest
On the evening of May 17, 2024, the Vietnamese Language Club under the Department of Vietnamese Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University successfully organized the final round of the “Vietnamese-language eloquence” contest.
After going through various rounds, the organizers selected the top five finalists. During the final night, five contestants from South Korea, Myanmar, and Cuba competed in three different parts: the presentation round with topics on Vietnamese language, culture, and history; the crossword puzzle round with questions about World Heritage sites in Vietnam, culinary culture, and significant Vietnamese holidays; and finally, the talent round.
The contestants demonstrated their fluent Vietnamese speaking skills and deep understanding of Vietnamese culture, history, and people through the contest. Notably, they delivered impressive talent performances. Each contestant brought a unique style and color to the competition, showcasing their confidence, dynamism, and strong stage presence.
After three intense rounds, the judges identified the deserving winners for various prizes:
- First Prize: Student Hong Sun Ha - Class 21030601 from South Korea.
- Second Prize: Student Aung Nyi Nyi Tun - Class 21030601 from Myanmar.
- Co-Third Prize: Student Hechevarria López Sismay - Class 21030601 from Cuba and Student Yoon Chanjung - Class 23030601 from South Korea.
- Consolation Prize: Student An Minji - Class 23030601 from South Korea.
In addition to the main prizes, there were two additional awards voted by the audience:
Best Presentation Award: Student Aung Nyi Nyi Tun - Class 21030601 from Myanmar.
Best Talent Performance Award: Student Hechevarria López Sismay - Class 21030601 from Cuba.
The “Vietnamese-language eloquence” contest of 2024 was a great success, leaving a lasting impression on both contestants and the audience. The contest provided a platform for students of Vietnamese Studies, majoring in Vietnamese Language, Culture and Society, across different classes to interact and learn from each other. It also offered students the opportunity to assess their Vietnamese language skills and gain deeper insights into Vietnamese culture, history, and people.
