Key Activities of the “CrossBridge 2026” Programme

Within the framework of the programme “CrossBridge 2026: Connecting Young Diplomats of ASEAN”, from January 29 to January 31, 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), organized a wide range of academic, cultural exchange, and experiential activities for lecturers and students from both universities.

On the afternoon of January 29, 2026, at the 5th-floor library of TDTU, two thematic sessions were held: “Overview of the Administrative System and Social Work in Malaysia” presented by lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA, and “Overview of the Administrative System and Social Work in Vietnam” delivered by MSW. Pham Ngoc Thach, Lecturer of the Department of Social Work, FSSH. These sessions provided students with an overall understanding of the administrative systems and social work practices of the two countries, while also creating opportunities for active exchange, discussion, and questions.

On the morning of January 30, 2026, at Room B010, students from both universities delivered presentations on the theme “Humanities in ASEAN” under the guidance of Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen, Lecturer in International Relations, FSSH. The session was conducted in a serious and dynamic atmosphere, reflecting the participants’ strong academic spirit and collaborative skills.

Later that afternoon, at Building B Hall, TDTU, students were introduced to the art of Vietnamese calligraphy through a presentation by MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, Deputy Head and in charge of the Tourism Department. This activity helped international students gain deeper insights into traditional cultural values and the national identity of Vietnam.

On the morning of January 31, 2026, the student delegation joined a City Tour, visiting several iconic landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City, including the Ho Chi Minh City Central Post Office, Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral, and Ho Chi Minh City Book Street. The activity enabled students to explore more deeply the history, culture, and urban life of Vietnam.

In addition, the delegation visited and engaged in exchange activities at An Lac Shelter of Phap Tanh Pagoda (Tay Ninh Province), where they carried out volunteer activities, presented gifts, and spent time playing with children. This meaningful activity embodied profound humanistic values and contributed to spreading the spirit of compassion and social responsibility.

The series of activities within the “CrossBridge 2026” programme contributed to enhancing the quality of academic exchange, strengthening cultural understanding, and reinforcing the cooperative relationship between the participating universities, toward the shared goals of sustainable development and regional integration.
