Program “The 2nd Student Dialogue” - Semester 2, academic year 2024 – 2025
On May 6, 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University organized the program “The 2nd Student Dialogue"” - Semester 2, academic year 2024 - 2025.
The dialogue was honored by the presence of esteemed representatives from various university departments, including:
- Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Assistant Head, Department of Student affairs;
- Mr. Le Cong An - Officer, Department of Student affairs;
- Mr. Ngo Duc Tho - Official, Department for Inspection, Legislation & Security;
- Mr. Bui Huu Toan - Assistant Head, Department of Testing & Quality Assessment;
- Ms. Nguyen Thuy Kim Tuyen - Official, Department of Undergraduate Studies.
Representing the FSSH were: Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong - Dean; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - Deputy Dean; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan - Dean’s Assistant; Dr. Le Thi Mai - Head of the Sociology Department; Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen - Head of the Political Theory Department; MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin - Deputy Head of the Tourism Department and in charge of the Tourism Department; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao - Deputy Head of the Tourism Department, Dr. Pham Thai Son - Deputy Head of the Tourism Department at the Khanh Hoa Branch, MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, in charge of the Social Work Department; and MSc. Dong Thi Huong, in charge of the Vietnamese Studies Department, along with faculty members, academic staff, and nearly 300 student representatives including class monitors, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch Secretaries, members of the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and team leaders from the FSSH.
During the dialogue, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Kim Tuyen from Department of Undergraduate Studies shared important academic updates from the University, covering topics such as course registration, withdrawal and cancellation policies, tuition fees, and academic calendar planning. Following this, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung from Department of Student affairs addressed issues related to student mental health, proper etiquette, and the promotion of a respectful and cultured academic environment.
Prior to the faculty-level dialogue, students had participated in department-level dialogues chaired by department leaders. These sessions focused on resolving subject-specific concerns and providing career orientation guidance.
Opening the main session, Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong emphasized the importance and purpose of student dialogue activities. She stressed that the sessions serve as a platform for the Faculty Board to listen to students’ feedback and aspirations, aiming to continuously improve the quality of training and student support services. She also reminded students of the need to develop an effective academic plan that meets prerequisite requirements and fulfills graduation standards in both informatics and English proficiency.
Later in the program, Ms. Tran Phuong Nhung – Academic Officer of the Faculty – provided guidance on academic procedures, while Mr. Bui Le Tuan Anh – Student Affairs Assistant – addressed student-related matters including welfare policies, scholarships, and compliance with university regulations.
Throughout the dialogue, students raised various questions regarding graduation substitute courses, vocational modules, and the student training activity program. All concerns were thoroughly and transparently addressed by the Faculty Board, lecturers, and administrative staff.
