Promoting Cooperation in Education, Research, and Community Service with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society

On August 21, 2026, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) welcomed representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society and discussed several directions for future cooperation.

The delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society was led by Dr. Nguyen Minh Nhut, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, accompanied by Vice Presidents and leaders of units responsible for first aid training, voluntary blood donation, communications, and other activities. Representing the FSSH were Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Vice Dean; together with heads of academic divisions and lecturers in Sociology, Social Work, Tourism, and other fields.

The two parties discussed and identified several areas for cooperation, including:

• Coordinating education and training in community based first aid skills and practices, case management, and social work.
• Introducing lecturers and experts to participate in teaching, thematic sessions, and providing feedback on academic programs and projects.
• Collaborating on scientific research, policy consultation, and knowledge transfer.
• Conducting communication activities and supporting communities in early warning and response to natural disasters, storms, floods, and other impacts of climate change.
• Connecting networks of volunteers and international students.

The cooperation exchange program with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society contributes to aligning education with societal needs, promoting applied research, and strengthening the community engagement of the FSSH, TDTU.
