The Second “Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Footsteps” Contest 2026 Successfully Held

In celebration of the 136th birth anniversary of beloved President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026), the Political Theory Club under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), successfully organized the second “Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Footsteps” Contest 2026, featuring a range of meaningful, practical, and vibrant activities.

The contest served as a political and academic activity aimed at strengthening education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyle among union members, young people, and students. It also contributed to enhancing students’ awareness of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style, while creating a healthy academic environment that helps nurture TDTU students with resilience, responsibility, and a strong aspiration to contribute to society.

The contest was held online from April 22 to April 25, 2026. Participants answered 30 multiple-choice questions via Google Forms. The contest content focused on President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, his moral values and style, as well as their significance for students’ learning and self-training today.

In addition, a seminar and award ceremony were held at the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, Ton Duc Thang University Library, on May 7, 2026. The event was attended by Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Head of the Political Theory Division at TDTU; Dr. Ngo Ba Khiem, lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law; members of the Executive Board of the Political Theory Club; and a large number of TDTU students.

During the seminar, Dr. Ngo Ba Khiem vividly retraced the more than 30-year journey of patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh in search of a path to national salvation across many countries and continents, including France, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Soviet Union, and China, before he returned to lead the Vietnamese revolution to victory. The speaker’s insightful, academically grounded, and practical sharing helped students gain a deeper understanding of the stature of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style. It also inspired young people to uphold their responsibility in learning, self-improvement, and contributing to the country in the current period.

Following the seminar, the Organizing Committee reviewed the contest results and presented awards to outstanding participants, including:

First Prize: Le Kim Quynh Nhu, Faculty of Sports Science;

Second Prize: Huynh Ngoc Minh Thu, Faculty of Business Administration;

Third Prize: Trang Thanh Thu, Faculty of Law; Nguyen Diep Quy, Faculty of Foreign Languages;

Consolation Prizes: Truong Yen Nhi, Faculty of Accounting; Ly Ngoc My, Faculty of Foreign Languages; Vo Thi Dan Nhi, Faculty of Business Administration; Nguyen Duy Hieu, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Through the contest, the spirit of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style continued to spread widely among students across the University. The activity also helped foster self-learning, independent research, and a stronger sense of responsibility toward the community and society, thereby contributing to the development of a positive, humane, and tradition-rich campus culture.
