Seminar on Sociology Program - Specialize in Communication

Implementing the policy of periodically adjusting the training program to meet the demand for human resources in the labor market; Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities organized two seminars to offer a suggestion on the Sociology Program specialized in Communication.

The first online seminar on September 25, 2020 took place at the Conference room, the inspirational library, Ton Duc Thang University. The second seminar in the livestream on the afternoon of October 6, 2020 at Ton Duc Thang University with the participation of professors and doctors who are teaching at universities, also at the same time actors, journalists in the world and in Vietnam:

- Professor Scott McQuire - Professor of Media and Communications at the University of Melbourne, Australia

- Dr. Ken Fero is a renowned award-winning documentary film producer and runs Documentary Film courses at the Leicester University and the Regents University in UK.

- Professor Abhijit Roy - Director, School of Communication & Culture, Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India.

- Professor Asli Telli Aydemir, Graduate School of Communication Positioning, University of Siegen, Germany (formerly Sehir University in Turkey).

- Dr. Michelangelo Paganopoulos, London School of Tropical Medicine, London, UK.

- Director Nguyen Tuong Phuong, film director at the Liberation Film Studio and TFS Television Studio - HTV, is currently teaching film director at the HCMC University of Theater and Cinema and other universities in Ho Chi Minh City. 

- Director Dao Anh Dung, current news director, is currently teaching at HCMC University of Theater and Cinema and other universities in Ho Chi Minh City. 

- Journalist Nguyen Trung Anh, Former Secretary of the Journal of Economic Development, HCMC University of Economics, Former Secretary of the Economic Development Journalists Association - HCMC Journalist Association. 

- Mr. Nguyen Tat Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in charge of communication at Smart Network Joint Stock Company (INC).

- Reporter Ho Thi Xuan Huy, Master of International Relations and Public Policy, Fulbright University, Reporter City Television Station, Ho Chi Minh City, currently working at the HCMC Labor Newspaper. 

The combination of knowledge and skills of the two disciplines in the Sociology Program for Communication has been evaluated as the right direction by scientists, lecturers, and practical activists participating in the seminar, meeting the needs of the current labor market. On that basis, the Department of Sociology completes the training program objectives and outcome standards, the knowledge and skills needed to provide post-graduate students so that they can work in communication position in business and media agencies.
