Series of Activities under the “Global Culture and Community Engagement” Program

From July 13 to August 7, 2026, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), organized a series of activities under the “Global Culture and Community Engagement” program for international students from Outreach Vietnam. The program aimed to create a multicultural exchange environment where international students could learn about Vietnam, its people, and its culture through academic activities, exchanges, and practical experiences.

One of the key components of the program was a series of thematic sessions introducing distinctive aspects of Vietnamese culture and social life. Through these sessions, international students not only gained knowledge but also had opportunities to exchange ideas, interact with others, and experience Vietnamese cultural values in an open and multicultural learning environment.

The thematic sessions included “Vietnamese Culture” presented by Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen, which provided an overview of the values, characteristics, and diversity of Vietnamese culture; “Vietnamese Calligraphy” presented by MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin, which introduced students to the beauty of calligraphy and provided them with an opportunity to experience calligraphy writing; and “Basic Vietnamese Language” delivered by MSc. Le Quang Duc, which helped students become familiar with common Vietnamese expressions and everyday communication.

Distinctive aspects of Vietnamese culture and daily life were further introduced through the “Vietnamese Coffee” session presented by MSc. Pham Cong Danh; the “Vietnam Tourism” session presented by Ms. Nguyen Hong Hai Tien, which introduced Vietnam’s tourism potential, resources, and notable destinations; and the “Vietnamese Cuisine” session presented by MSc. Nguyen Quynh Anh, which offered international students engaging insights into the diversity and distinctive identity of Vietnamese culinary culture.

By combining academic content with experiential activities, the program enabled international students to explore Vietnamese culture in a direct and accessible manner. The interactive activities also strengthened connections between international students and TDTU lecturers, students, and the learning environment, thereby fostering exchange, mutual understanding, and respect for cultural diversity.
