Successfully Organizing the Seminar “Tourism Human Resource Demands in the Context of Digital Transformation” and the Enterprise Cooperation Signing Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Academic Year at Khanh Hoa Campus
On May 9, 2026, at the Khanh Hoa Campus (the Campus), the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), in coordination with the Campus, successfully organized the seminar entitled “Tourism Human Resource Demands in the Context of Digital Transformation” and the Enterprise Cooperation Signing Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The program was honored by the presence of distinguished delegates and guests. Representing associations and enterprises were Mr. Bui Minh Thang – Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association; Ms. Do Phuong Quyen – Vice Head of the Tour Guide Association Chapter; Mr. Le Minh Phuc – Director of Hoan Hao Trading Service and Travel Company Limited; representatives of the InterContinental Nha Trang Hotel and Residences Cluster, including Mr. Paul Tsuji (General Manager), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Trang (Director of Human Resources), and Ms. Hoang Thi Hoai Thuy (Training and Quality Improvement Manager); and representatives of Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island, including Mr. Staris Latkas (General Manager), Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (Director of Human Resources), and Ms. Ngoc Nguyen – Deputy Director of Training. Representing partner high schools were Ms. Vu Thi Lien Huong – Principal of Ha Huy Tap High School, and Mr. Che Tuan – Vice Principal of Lac Long Quan High School.
Representing the University were Dr. Pham Hai Chien – Assistant to the Director of the Campus; Dr. Nguyen Hong Tin – Officer-in-Charge of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs; Dr. Pham Thi Ha Thuong – Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities; Dr. Nguyen Minh Huan – Assistant to the Dean; MSc. Nguyen Hieu Tin – Deputy Head and in charge of the Tourism Department; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao –Deputy Head of the Tourism Department; Dr. Dr. Pham Thai Son – Deputy Head of the Tourism Department at Khanh Hoa Campus, together with lecturers of the department and more than 100 students at the Campus.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Pham Hai Chien – Assistant to the Director of the Campus, emphasized that the objective of the event was to strengthen, expand, and further enhance cooperative relationships between the University and its enterprise partners. He affirmed that encouraging enterprises to participate more extensively in the training process is a key factor in improving the quality of tourism human resources to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of society in the digital era.
During the presentation session, speakers shared practical perspectives on workforce demands. Mr. Le Minh Phuc presented on digital transformation workforce needs in the travel sector; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Trang shared approaches to optimizing the capabilities of Gen Y and Gen Z in the technology era; and Dr. Pham Thai Son introduced the orientation of tourism human resource training at Ton Duc Thang University in adapting to digitalization trends.
In the discussion session, featuring Mr. Le Minh Phuc, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Trang, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Dao, and moderated by M.A. Nguyen Hieu Tin, the speakers exchanged insights into the profound impacts of technology on the tourism industry and provided practical advice for students. Discussions focused on the impact of digital transformation, analyzing how technology is reshaping the travel industry and imposing stricter operational requirements on modern hotels; employer expectations, emphasizing the importance of balancing professional expertise, digital competencies, and especially work attitude; and opportunities and recommendations, highlighting how the context of digitalization is creating numerous new opportunities for young professionals. The speakers encouraged students not only to closely follow the university’s training curriculum but also to proactively learn new technologies and develop adaptive thinking.
One of the key highlights of the program was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between Khanh Hoa Campus and Hoan Hao Trading Service and Travel Company Limited, the InterContinental Nha Trang Hotel and Residences Cluster, and Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island. This cooperation commits to providing students with field trips, internship programs, and practical employment opportunities.
As part of the program, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities also awarded four academic encouragement scholarships, valued at VND 2,000,000 each, to outstanding students. These scholarships serve as a meaningful source of motivation for students to continue striving toward their future career goals.
The successful conclusion of the program marked another important milestone in the University’s journey to strengthen the connection between academic training and professional practice
