Tourism and Tourism Management Student Achieves Outstanding Result at the 4th Citywide Promising Tour Guide Competition – 2025
Vo Thi Hoai Thuong, a student majoring in Tourism and Tourism Management under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), has won Second Prize at the 4th “Citywide Promising Tour Guide” Competition – 2025. The competition spanned one month and saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students representing tourism training institutions across Ho Chi Minh City.

The competition was co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture. It aims to create an academic and professional platform for students majoring in Tour Guiding, as well as to identify, nurture, and develop potential talents in the tourism services sector. This initiative contributes to enhancing the quality of young human resources for the tourism industry.
During the final performance round, contestants competed in three main segments:
- Round 1 – Knowledge Quiz: This segment included 15 questions, of which 5 were in English, testing specialized tourism knowledge. Hoai Thuong demonstrated a solid grasp of key concepts and quick thinking throughout the round.
- Round 2 – Public Speaking: Addressing the topic "Community-based tourism is not a sustainable tourism development trend", Hoai Thuong impressed the audience with her sharp critical thinking, coherent arguments, and confident delivery.
- Round 3 – Tour Commentary: With the topic "Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy", her presentation was emotional and inspiring, successfully conveying national pride and the cultural-historical significance of the site to the entire auditorium.
The competition concluded with many impressive results, marking a significant milestone in the personal and professional growth of all participating students.
