Tourism Students Complete Field Trip Program (Second Semester, Academic Year 2023 – 2024)
From June 9th to 18th, 2024, the Tourism Department organized four field trip programs for 457 students majoring in Tourism and Travel, Tourism, and Tourism Management under the Standard, High-Quality, and English programs. To prepare for the field trip program, students discussed and elected a representative committee, constructed tour programs, set service standards, and exchanged ideas with businesses under the guidance of lecturers. This year, the Department of Tourism received collaborative support from Vietluxtour Joint Stock Company and Doc Dao Travel Joint Stock Company. The field practice programs included:
1. Vietnam Tourism (Major Tourism and Tourism Management: High-Quality and English Programs): Northwest Route (6 days 5 nights);
2. Vietnam Tourism (Major Tourism and Tourism Management: Standard Program): Central Region Route (6 days 5 nights);
3. Tourism Practice 2 (Major Tourism and Travel: Standard Program): Cross-Vietnam Route (10 days 9 nights);
4. Tourism Practice 1 (Major Tourism and Travel: Standard Program): Mekong Delta Route (4 days 3 nights).
Through these programs, students practiced various tourism-related skills such as guiding, managing transportation services, dining, accommodation, event organization, and organizing activities at tourist destinations in the regions visited, under the guidance of businesses and lecturers.
This field trip program has brought many practical benefits, providing students with new experiences, practical exposure, and the addition of essential skills and tourism industry knowledge. Although the duration of the field trips was short, they were extremely beneficial for each course in particular and the tourism major in general.
